My artwork is created through the process of needle felting -- think tattooing with wool! Rather than using ink or paint, my medium is unspun wool. Small pieces are pulled off the roving, like pulling off a piece of cotton candy. Using a barbed needle tool, the wool is forced into a backing such as cotton, wool or linen, which serves as a canvas. While I love to felt dogs and cats, I am up for all kinds of pet and animal challenges! Or if you have an idea for a custom piece that is not a portrait, I'd love to chat! |
I work off of a photograph of your choosing to recreate your pet in wool. (See tips for choosing a photograph below!). Turnaround time varies on the time of year and the number of commissions I am working on at the time of your order. Most artwork can be available within two weeks.
Options & Pricing
Do you want a realistic or colorful portrait?
The price per piece is dependent on the level of detail and realism desired. Portraits in bright colors will be at the low end of the range, while truly realistic portraits would be at the high end. All artwork comes matted and framed, or stretched on a wooden frame (like a canvas).
How would you like it framed?
What size would you like?
These are the most popular sizes for portraits. If you would like a different size than what is listed, let me know!
It is possible to do multiple pets per piece, at my discretion (if the composition works), for an additional cost per pet. For this an 11x14 is recommended.
- 8 inch x 8 inch: colorful: $140, realistic: $240 (plus shipping if applicable)
- 8 inch x 10 inch: colorful: $155, realistic: $255 (plus shipping if applicable)
- 11 inch x 14 inch: colorful: $215, realistic: $315 (plus shipping if applicable)
